Video Length: 1 Hour 27 Minutes

Join watercolorist, Doug Lew, and learn how to add motion and life to your paintings.

Doug uses composition and a variety of watercolor techniques to create a sense of movement. He begins by describing four techniques he uses to depict motion. Then you see his use of preliminary sketches to thoroughly understand how his subject might look in motion. You learn how to emphasize movement by using strong color, bold values and painterly brush strokes. Doug walks you through his sequence of value sketch and thumbnail painting. He shows you what he needs to emphasize in his final painting and what needs to be blurred or delineated. Finally, Doug demonstrates two complete paintings - a wind surfer and a group of cyclists.

If you are an advanced beginner to intermediate level painter, interested in adding motion and life to your paintings, this is a don't miss video for you.
